30 minutes | Serves 6
This is a “go to” recipe in my extended family. It’s basically approved by the masses. The secret is letting the green beans get nice and brown and soft. Even if they loss some of their nutritiousness with this method, the result are so worth it.
1 pd of fresh green beans, ends removed
2 whole garlic cloves, peeled
3 tablespoons of olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
It’s really up to you. You can blanch your beans in boiling water for a few minutes to decrease the cook time in half (but deal with more pans) or just pan fry them from the get go. Either way, place all ingredients in flat frying pan and cook over medium heat. Allow sides of beans to brown by not stirring too often. Raw beans will cook for about 30 minutes and blanched beans 15. Add salt and pepper and serve.
